Andre Onana has launched a scathing attack on Cameroonian football, criticizing the environment surrounding the national team.

What prompted Onana's rant?

The 30-year-old goalkeeper, currently on loan from Manchester United at Trabzonspor, expressed his frustration on TikTok, pointing to the lack of transparency and hypocrisy in the rhetoric around the national team.

He claimed that former players are two-faced, speaking differently in public and private.

The issue of bonuses and sponsorship

Onana also broached the sensitive topic of bonuses and sponsorship, revealing that the team went four years without bonuses from top sponsors.

He decried the silence from his peers on the problem, asking if speaking out meant he hated someone.

The goalkeeper has a chequered relationship with the national team, having left midway through the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after being suspended by Fecafoot.

No return to Manchester United

Despite a change in the dugout, with Michael Carrick taking over from Ruben Amorim in January, INEOS remain intent on shifting Onana this summer.

Trabzonspor are not pleased with their loanee's mixed performances, and vice-president Zeyyat Kafkas revealed that Onana aims to find a club in a top league in Europe.

A meeting is scheduled this month between United officials and Onana's camp to chart a new course.

Onana harbours ambitions of salvaging his career at Old Trafford, but any return will be a formality to facilitate a sale, with United looking to bank €45-50 million for his services.

The goalkeeper's future remains uncertain, with a potential return to Inter Milan mooted as one possibility.
